Who We Are

Covenant Baptist Church

Founded on Scripture. Formed by grace. Sent with purpose.

Our Story

A Mission Work of Waco Family Baptist

Covenant Baptist Church is a mission work of Waco Family Baptist Church, led by Pastor Todd Gill.

In early 2023, a handful of families in Wichita Falls began searching for a doctrinally sound church home. What they found instead was a landscape saturated with teaching that was, at best, milky — shallow, man-centered, and far from the Scriptures. The search led them to the Texas Area Association of Reformed Baptist Churches, where they found likeminded believers and presented the case for a faithful Reformed Baptist church in Wichita Falls.

Waco Family Baptist Church answered that call. Under the leadership of Todd Gill, the families began meeting monthly for Bible study and fellowship in the spring of 2023. By June, Wilson Marsh had been identified and sent to lead what would become Covenant Baptist Church. He began leading weekly Sunday worship, and the congregation grew — in number, in wisdom, and in grace.

In April 2024, Covenant Baptist Church officially constituted as an autonomous congregation and joined the Texas Area Association of Reformed Baptist Churches.

Today, we continue to grow through the faithful preaching of God's Word, the right administration of the ordinances, and the regular fellowship of the saints.

Our Convictions

Reformed Baptist Identity

Scripture Alone

Sola Scriptura

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God — sufficient for all matters of faith and life. No tradition, experience, or institution stands above Scripture.

Grace Alone

Sola Gratia

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. God elected His people before the foundation of the world, drew them to Himself through the Spirit, and redeemed them by the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Christ Alone

Solus Christus

We believe Jesus Christ is the sole Mediator between God and man — fully God, fully man, who lived the righteousness we could not and died the death we owed. There is no salvation apart from His finished work, and no other name by which we must be saved.

Faith Alone

Sola Fide

We believe that sinners are justified by faith alone, apart from works. The righteousness of Christ is imputed to the believer, and that righteousness — not our own — is the sole basis of our acceptance with God.

Glory to God Alone

Soli Deo Gloria

We believe that the ultimate purpose of all things — creation, redemption, and final judgment — is the glory of God alone. Every thought, word, and deed is to be done for the praise of His glorious grace.

Plan a Visit

What to Expect on a Visit

Lord's Day Worship

Sundays at 10:45 AM

Our service runs about 75–90 minutes. We sing historic hymns, read Scripture responsively, and hear expository preaching from God's Word — convicting, encouraging, and deeply practical.

A Warm Welcome

No pressure, no spotlights

You will be greeted at the door. There is no formal visitor spotlight — our members will simply introduce themselves after the service. Dress is business casual. Come as you are. We mean that.

The Preaching

Expository, book by book

We work through books of the Bible passage by passage, verse by verse. The Bible is deep enough to mine for a lifetime and clear enough to obey today. Expect serious, warm, Christ-centered teaching.

Our People

United by the Savior

We are a small, committed congregation of different ages and backgrounds — some families who have walked with Christ for decades, some who are brand new to the faith. What unites us is not sameness, but the Savior.

Our Ordinances

Baptism & the Lord's Supper

We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a public profession of faith. We celebrate the Lord's Supper each week as a means of grace, open to all who have genuinely trusted in Christ, been baptized, and are walking in submission without known unrepentant sin. We gather at the Table not because we are worthy, but because Christ is.

Family Integrated Worship

Children present for all of it

We believe children belong in the whole of gathered worship — not merely for the sermon, but for the ordinances as well. We offer no separate children's services or youth programs during worship. Families worship together, parents shepherding their children alongside the means of grace.

This is neither easier nor more convenient. But faithfulness has never been measured by convenience.

Church Officers

Marsh Family
Pastor / Elder / Overseer

Wilson Marsh

Wilson grew up in south Texas (Charlotte) with Christian parents. He trusted in Christ and was baptized at the age of 8. He studied theology at Texas State University, where he met his wife Kayla. They were married in 2012, and have four children (Walker, Liam, Olivia, and Haddon).

He grew up in a faithful SBC church. After being sent off by the congregation, he served as a youth pastor for 2 years, then as lead pastor of FBC Dawson for 4 years, before becoming the church planting pastor of CBCWF.

He is currently pursuing his M.Div at Covenant Baptist Seminary.

The Motley Family
Deacon

Ricky Motley

Grateful to be a part of Covenant Baptist Church and humbled to serve as a deacon in this congregation, Ricky was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. He met his wife, Sarah, in 2009 and they have been married since September of 2011. In May of 2018 they welcomed their son, Micah, and in September of 2022 their daughter, Moriah.

For many years prior to Covenant Baptist constituting as a church, the idea of having a Confessionally Reformed Baptist church here in Wichita Falls seemed unlikely, but when they received word that this church was coming together, they were eager to come and see what The LORD was doing. Since their first time being in attendance, they have been blessed by the faithful worship of GOD each Lord’s Day.

As time has gone on, they have also been encouraged to see a renewal amid God's people to desire sound doctrine and Baptist confessionalism.

Booth Family
Deacon

Chris Booth

Chris grew up in Morrison, Oklahoma. Though he did not grow up in a Christian home, his mother faithfully sent him to the local First Baptist Church, where he trusted in Christ and was baptized at the age of 8. He and his wife, KaSandra, were married in 2014 and have five children (Cameron, Penelope, Lenox, Lydia, and Paul).

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Chris’s study of scripture and history prompted him to embrace Reformed Baptist convictions. This theological journey ultimately led him to connect with other local believers, seeking out a partnership with the Texas Area Association of Reformed Baptist Churches and Waco Family Baptist Church to plant Covenant Baptist Church here in Wichita Falls.

We Would Love to Have You

Whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time, returning to church after a long absence, or looking for a doctrinally-faithful congregation, you are genuinely welcome here. Come and see.
